Account Services Clerk A/R - Printable Description

The Account Services Clerk - A/R is responsible for interfacing with customers through verbal and written correspondence, protecting the company’s investment in accounts receivable, and the accurate execution of accounting functions in the Hardinge Inc. ERP system, currently JD Edwards. The requirements for this position that reports to the North American Controller are as follows:
Education: High school diploma required; Associates degree in a related field preferred.
Experience:

Three to Five years in an Account / Finance setting preferred. The position requires excellent computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and a working knowledge of an ERP system; experience with JD Edwards is a plus.

Reports To: North America Controller

Responsibilities:

  • Receive or initiate calls and e-mails working directly with customers.
  • Receive and / or download customer invoices and ensure the correct coding of invoices and payments for the ERP system.
  • Perform collection activities on delinquent accounts and take actions to resolve past due amounts, including account discrepancies, following up as needed. Organize and document collection activities and communications.
  • Reconcile customers’ accounts; process refunds, offset credit memos, make adjustments, etc.
  • Receive and properly code and enter incoming payments.
  • Enter data accurately into the ERP system.
  • Special reporting as may be required.
  • Support other accounting projects as directed.

Assistant Controller – North America - Printable Description

This temporary interim position of Assistant Controller – North America that is located in our Accounting Department has the following requirements:
Education: BS in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA preferred.
Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of finance/controllership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong systems and implementation background, preferably with accounting and operations systems.
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting experience.
  • Must have outstanding PC skills, including proficiency with all MS Office products.Minimum of two years' experience as a Machinist preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight and management of finance and accounting activities in North America assisting the North America Controller for the US Turning & Milling, US Workholding, Forkardt US, HGG, and US Grinding businesses.
  • Responsible for the accounting activities of the Corporate cost centers.
  • Help to organize the finance and accounting function in a way to leverage costs yet providing specific required support to each individual business unit.
  • Timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, company policy and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain an effective and efficient internal control system in accordance with the company’s SOX compliance process.
  • Review financial results and provide analysis of results compared to AOP, forecast and to prior periods. Provide the information for management to make informed business decisions.
  • Develop sound understanding of cost accounting systems and implement improvements to facilitate improved costing methodologies.
  • Responsible for expanded use and functionality of the company’s ERP system to extract greater value from the investment, including transitioning the Forkardt and HGG businesses to a common platform.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through active involvement in HIPEx quality initiatives.
  • Assist in oversight of internal and external audits for the US Operations. Act as liaison with external auditors as it relates to quarterly reviews and year-end audit.
  • Act as consultant and confidant to the respective business unit leaders.
  • Act as liaison with outsourced tax compliance providers.
  • Assist in the hiring, and development of the North American Accounting/Finance staff while setting clear expectations and holding them accountable.

Production Machinist - Printable Description

The position requirements for the Machinist positions are as follows:

This position is responsible for the set up and operation of both conventional and CNC machining equipment to produce components efficiently and accurately. The machinist will load / unload parts on machines to support maximum spindle utilization time, perform in-process inspection of machined parts to verify conformance to customer requirements, monitor parts as they are completed on the machine, and detect malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing work area practices including 5-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes and supports team members in these processes. Electronic Technician - Printable Description

The requirements for the Electronic Technician position are as follows:
Education: High-school graduate plus two year technical college with a specialization electrical/electronic education or equivalent experience. Knowledge of troubleshooting/repair, alignment/adjusting methods and techniques, simulators and other test apparatus
Experience:Two to three years in performing a wide range of testing, assembly and associated duties following standard procedures. Experience with troubleshooting CNC controls. Familiarity with mechanical disassembly and reassembly of sliding, rotating and/or power driven equipment. Workholding Customer Service Representative - Printable Description

CNC Machinist/Programmer - Printable Description

The requirements for the CNC Machinist/Programmer position are as follows:
Education: Two year degree in Machine Tool Technology, or a high school diploma/general education degree (GED) with equivalent experience is required. Formal training in CNC programming is a plus

New Product Design and Development Engineer - Printable Description

The New Product Design and Development Engineer will focus on working with customers to create new and innovative Workholding designs for both the Hardinge and Forkardt product families. The requirements for this position that is located in our Engineering Department are as follows:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Experience:A minimum of 5 years of design experience in 3D CAD modeling (Solidworks preferred) along with experience with FEA and design analysis.
Specific Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including turning, milling, grinding and heat treatment to ensure designs are efficient to manufacture
  • Knowledge of various metal materials for proper selection

Reports To: Product Development Manager
Location: The selected candidate's work location will be in either Elmira, NY or Traverse City, MI. Some travel will be required
Responsibilities:

  • Create design of components and assemblies in SolidWorks 3D software utilizing the full suite of tools within such as Finite Element Analysis and animation to evaluate designs for proper function, strength, repeatability and Factor of Safety
  • Determine proper material sizing and specifications for manufacturing process
  • Test and evaluate design once product is manufactured, to include creation of fixtures or equipment to perform validation testing
